Educational Sub-Committee Grants
The Society encourages educational meetings and small meetings on specialist topics to which members of the Society are invited. Applications for financial support for such meetings should be made by email to the treasurer Dr Cédric Duval, giving details of the meeting proposed. Applications will be considered by the educational sub-committee. A report must be provided after the meeting.
BSHT Skills Exchange Award Application
The BSHT provides skills exchange awards to applicants who need to learn a new skill to progress their research, which cannot be catered for in their home institution.
The application needs to outline what new skill will be acquired, why there is a need to attain that skill and why the host institution they are travelling to is the most suitable place to achieve this. The applicant also needs to justify the duration of their visit and the associated costs.
There is no application deadline for the skills exchange awards. An application can be submitted at any time using the on line application form (see link below). It is recommended that applications are submitted at least 3 months before the applicant is due to travel. It is expected that the applicant will present the work undertaken at the host institution at the subsequent BSHT meeting after their return.
